Kazakhstan has issued a storm warning for Sunday, August 2, with temperatures expected to reach up to 42°C in some regions, according to Kazhydromet, reports infohub.kz.

In Astana, brief rain, thunderstorms, and hail are possible. In Almaty, daytime temperatures will climb to 36–38°C, with an extreme fire hazard remaining. Shymkent also remains under an extreme fire alert.

In the Akmola region, rain and thunderstorms are expected at night in the north, south, and east, while during the day, isolated showers, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast. Fog is expected at night and in the morning in the west, north, and east. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s in the west, south, and east. Extreme fire danger persists in the west, and high fire danger in the south.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the western and northern parts of the Abai region during the day. Winds there will reach 15–20 m/s. Temperatures will rise to 35–38°C. High fire danger persists in the south and center, while extreme fire danger remains in the northeast.

Light rain and thunderstorms are possible in the western and central parts of the Mangistau region in the morning and during the day. Winds will pick up to 15–18 m/s. Extreme heat of up to 38–40°C is expected in the south. High fire danger remains in the west and north, and extreme fire danger in the northeast and center.

In the East Kazakhstan region, extreme heat of 35–38°C is expected during the day. Extreme fire danger remains in the south.

In the Atyrau region, wind gusts of up to 15–18 m/s are possible in the east at night. Daytime temperatures will reach 35°C. Extreme fire danger persists across the region.

In the Ulytau region, light rain and thunderstorms are possible in the north and east. Winds will reach 15–20 m/s in these areas and in the center during the day. Extreme heat of 35–37°C is expected. High fire danger is forecast across the region, with extreme danger in the south and east.

In the Turkestan region, dust storms are possible in the west and north during the day. Winds in these areas and in mountainous areas will reach 15–20 m/s. Temperatures will climb to 40–42°C. Extreme fire danger persists across the region, with high danger in the east, northeast, and west.

In the Aktobe region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in the west, north, and east during the day. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. High fire danger remains in the north, while extreme danger persists across the region.

In the Pavlodar region, thunderstorms are possible in the west, north, and south. Heavy rain, hail, and squalls are expected in the north during the day. Winds in the western, northern, and southern districts will reach 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 25 m/s in the south during the daytime. Daytime temperatures will rise to 35–37°C. High fire danger remains in the north.

In the east of the West Kazakhstan region, brief rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected during the day. Winds in the northern and eastern districts will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. High fire danger persists across the region, with extreme danger in the west and south.

In the Kostanay region, rain and thunderstorms are possible in the northwest at night. During the day, rain, thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, hail, and squalls are expected in the west, north, and east. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s. High fire danger persists in the west, east, and center, with extreme danger in the south and southeast.

In the mountainous areas of the Zhambyl region, brief rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day. Winds in the southwest, northeast, and mountains will reach 15–20 m/s. Severe heat of 38–40°C and extreme fire danger persist across the region, with high danger in the east and south.

In the North Kazakhstan region, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west and north at night, and during the day, rain and thunderstorms are forecast, with hail and squalls in the north and east. Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the east. Winds will reach 15–20 m/s at night in the east and during the day in the west, north, and east, occasionally reaching 23 m/s. High fire danger persists in the southwest.

In the center of the Kyzylorda region, a dust storm is possible during the day. Winds in the center will reach 15–20 m/s. Daytime temperatures will hit 40°C, with extreme fire danger persisting.
