The Youth World Wrestling Championships continue in Slovakia, and the latest day of competition brought no medals for the Kazakh national team. In four women's weight categories, the domestic athletes failed to even reach the consolation rounds, reports infohub.kz.

The highest hopes were pinned on Shodiena Dilmuratova in the 55 kg category. In the quarterfinals, she lost to Ukrainian Karolina Poplavska with a score of 0:6, and her chances of continuing depended on her opponent reaching the final. However, Poplavska failed to make it to the decisive bout today and will compete for the bronze medal. Thus, Dilmuratova did not earn the right to participate in the consolation rounds.

Earlier in the tournament, Zhaidar Mukat (62 kg), Zhangyl Beken (65 kg), and Zeinep Elamas (76 kg) were eliminated.

Kazakhstan's only medal in Bratislava so far remains the gold won by Greco-Roman wrestler Kyzybek Kalmagambetov in the 67 kg category.

The world championship, held under the auspices of the International Wrestling Federation (UWW), has brought together 700 young athletes from around the globe in the Slovak capital. They are competing for 120 sets of medals in three wrestling styles: Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women's wrestling.

Kazakhstan is represented in Bratislava by 30 athletes — 20 boys and 10 girls.

The tournament will conclude on August 23.
