A new vehicle type approval for the Kia Seltos crossover has been issued in Kazakhstan. The entry appeared in the open registry of KazStandard on October 5, and the document designates the vehicle as Seltos with type SP3c. According to the approval data, this is the second generation of the model, which is being prepared for production in Kostanay, infohub.kz reports.
According to the document, production will be established at the KIA Qazaqstan plant in Kostanay. The crossover has a length of 4460 mm, a width of 1830 mm and a wheelbase of 2690 mm. For comparison, the current Seltos is 4390 mm long with a wheelbase of 2630 mm.
The approval provides for front-wheel and all-wheel drive. It also lists 1.5-liter gasoline engines with outputs of 84.4, 110 and 147 kW. That corresponds to approximately 115, 150 and 200 hp.
The equipment list for the new Kia Seltos includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance and blind-spot collision-avoidance systems, a rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance function, a panoramic roof and roof rails.
Some of the equipment is listed as optional, so the content of specific trim levels remains unknown for now.
The new approval is valid from October 5, 2026 to October 4, 2029. The manufacturer is listed as the Kazakh plant KIA Qazaqstan, and the applicant is Kia Russia & CIS LLC.
Prices and the start date of sales for the new Seltos have not yet been announced. The website of Kia's official distributor currently lists the first-generation Seltos at a price starting from 11 million tenge.
