In the North Kazakhstan region, a drunk man with a knife attacked a district police inspector right in a service car. The incident occurred in late July in the Kyzylzhar district, between the villages of Lebedki and Nalobino, reports infohub.kz.
According to available data, the police officer was taking the man, who was intoxicated in a public place, for a medical examination. During the ride, the offender suddenly pulled out a knife and attacked the district officer.
The police officer received a cut wound but managed to knock the knife out of the attacker's hands and stop the car.
"The district police inspector received a cut wound while delivering a drunk offender to the police department, who attacked the police officer in a service vehicle. A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility," the press service of the North Kazakhstan Regional Police Department reported.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 380 of the Criminal Code — threat or violent acts against a representative of authority. The use of violence dangerous to the life or health of a police officer in the line of duty carries a punishment of seven to twelve years in prison.
The police added that after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery, the district inspector returned to duty.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Almaty, police launched an investigation after an attack on a group of children near the Atakent exhibition complex. According to the mother of one of the victims, a man hit a 10-year-old boy in the face and threatened the children with violence. The suspect was detained and taken to the police, and the circumstances of the incident are being established.
