In Kokshetau, police have solved the theft of a bag containing jewelry and valuables. The damage amounted to about 3.5 million tenge, reports infohub.kz.

According to the press service of the Akmola Regional Police Department, a 70-year-old local resident contacted the Kokshetau police department. The woman reported that after resting in the courtyard of a house on Abylai Khan Avenue, she forgot her bag on a bench. After a short time, when she returned for it, she found that the bag was gone. The total damage amounted to 3 million 470 thousand tenge.

A pre-trial investigation was launched into the theft. As part of operational search activities, police seized and carefully examined video recordings from the central operational management cameras, as well as cameras installed on residential buildings, commercial facilities, and other organizations located in the area where the crime was committed. Analysis of the video recordings allowed them to establish the sequence of events after the victim left the bag on the bench, as well as to identify the appearance of the woman who found the property.

It turned out that she noticed the unattended items and waited for the owner to appear for some time. Later, the woman took the bag, but did not bring it to the police. According to her, on the way home she threw away the bag, after first taking out a mobile phone, a wristwatch, and jewelry.

The next day, facing financial difficulties, the suspect pawned one of the found gold rings, receiving 150 thousand tenge for it. The money was spent on food and medicine.

Currently, the necessary investigative actions are being carried out in the criminal case.
