Ahead of the New Wave music contest, renowned composer Igor Krutoy shared archive photos on Instagram featuring Kazakh performers Dimash Kudaibergen and Alex Lim. The contest will take place in Kazan from August 20 to 26, reports infohub.kz.
In his post, Krutoy noted that every photo has its own story, and over the years the contest has accumulated many of them. He recalled meetings, performances, unexpected duets, and backstage conversations, as well as artists for whom New Wave became an important part of their creative journey. The composer called these shots a "big family album" and expressed joy at the upcoming reunion, emphasizing that only a few days remain until New Wave 2026.
Fans in the comments admired the photos, noting their beauty and nostalgia. They mentioned Dimash and Sofia Rotaru, expressed anticipation for the contest, and praised Igor Yakovlevich for a gorgeous shot with flowers and Dimash. Some fans recalled the "golden time" of Krutoy and Dimash's collaboration, saying they miss those days.
