Police in Kyzylorda are investigating a brutal killing after the victim's sister said a group of 12 people carried out the attack, while only three suspects have been detained. The news was reported by infohub.kz.

A Kyzylorda resident named Anastasia published a post on Threads appealing to the public and describing the tragedy that struck her family. "I am writing this post with tears in my eyes and with a pain that cannot be put into words. My own little brother was killed. His life was cruelly cut short, and our family still cannot come to terms with this terrible loss. According to the information we have, 12 people took part in the attack. My brother was beaten by a group, and the blow landed in the heart area. But at the moment only three have been detained. At the same time, as far as we know, the investigation is considering the version that only three people beat him, even though there are witnesses who say the attack was carried out by a group of 12. I have one question: why is the investigation limited to only three detainees when there are witnesses speaking of a larger number of participants? I am not claiming that all 12 people are equally guilty. But I demand that the role of each be thoroughly checked and that the testimony of witnesses be heard," the Kazakh woman said.

The Police Department of the Kyzylorda Region also issued a statement on the case. It said a criminal case had been opened over the killing of a resident of the city of Kyzylorda. Three suspects have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility in connection with the incident.

"All seized video recordings have been studied. Information about the possible involvement of other persons in what happened is being checked. The role and degree of participation of each of those involved will receive a legal assessment based on the results of the investigation. In the interests of the investigation, other information is not subject to disclosure. The course of the investigation is under the special control of the leadership of the police department," the police added.
