A meeting of the Government Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Qanat Bozumbaev was held in connection with the emergency in Mangystau Region: suspects have been identified, and all necessary assistance is being provided to the families of the deceased, reports infohub.kz.
The meeting reviewed the results of initial investigative measures and further steps to establish all causes and circumstances of the incident.
As reported by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sanzhar Adilov, criminal cases have been opened over the deaths under Part 2 of Article 453 ("Negligent attitude to service resulting in grave consequences") and Article 465 ("Violation of navigation rules") of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The investigation has identified officials suspected of allowing violations related to ensuring the safety of military personnel, organizing exercises, and conducting rescue operations. Their actions are being given a legal assessment," Adilov reported.
The condition of the serviceman rescued after the incident was considered separately. As reported by Vice Minister of Health Manas Ramazanov, his condition is stable, and there is no threat to his life. The serviceman has regained consciousness and is receiving all necessary medical care; his life is not in danger. His parents are by his side.
During the meeting, specific instructions were given to provide comprehensive support to the families of the deceased and injured servicemen. In particular, to ensure absolute transparency in the distribution of all incoming funds. Material assistance will include not only state payments and compensations required by law but also financial support from business representatives and philanthropists.
To accumulate these funds, a special fund has been established by the akimat of Mangystau Region, and its activities have been placed under constant control.
