METRO has launched a sale with discounts of up to 70% in four Kazakh cities — Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Shymkent. The promotion is tied to the company's phased closure of its stores in the country, according to infohub.kz.
The company said sales in Astana and Almaty will begin later, with dates to be announced separately.
The lineup of discounted items will be updated weekly, with new products offered at up to 70% off each week. The retailer warned that promotional quantities are limited and availability of specific items may vary by city and store.
"It is important for us to continue providing quality service to our customers and offering them attractive terms throughout the transition period. The regional sale will be part of this effort, and new offers will appear every week," said Mesut Dogukan, CEO of METRO Kazakhstan.
The sales will be rolled out in phases, continuing until the respective stores close.
Information about discounts and product availability can be found at shop.metro-kz.com. Visitors to the site must select their city to see the current assortment and offers for a specific store.
The company recalled that its stores will close in phases until March 2027, and until then the chain will continue serving customers.
Recall that in early October it became known that the German wholesale chain METRO would leave Kazakhstan after 16 years of operation. The company will close six of its stores by March 2027.
