Murat Buribayev appointed akim of Zhezkazgan

Murat Yerbolatovich Buribayev, who previously headed the city of Satpayev, has become the new akim of Zhezkazgan. The new head of the regional center was introduced to the city's active by the akim of the Ulytau region, Yeset Baiken, according to the department's official Instagram page, as reported by infohub.kz.

Murat Buribayev was born in 1991. He holds a bachelor's degree in Metallurgy and in Economics and Business, as well as a master's degree in public management. He received his education at Karaganda State Technical University, the Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The new akim began his career as a third-grade flotation operator in the main building of the Nurkazgan processing plant, a branch of the Karagandytsvetmet production association of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.

In 2011–2012, he worked as a records clerk in the administrative building of the management of the Nurkazgan processing plant, a branch of the Karagandytsvetmet production association of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, after which he served as foreman of the control shop in the main building of the same plant.

In 2012–2013, Buribayev was head of the shop in the main building of the Nurkazgan processing plant, a branch of the Karagandytsvetmet production association of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP. In 2013–2014, he held the position of chief engineer of the processing plant at the Orlovsky mine of the Vostoktsvetmet production association of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.

In 2014–2015, he headed the main building shop No. 2 of the Zhezkazgan processing plant No. 1, 2, 3 of the ZhTM production association of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP. In 2015–2017, he was director of the Nurkazgan processing plant, a branch of KTM of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.

From 2017 to 2024, Murat Buribayev served as director of the Zhezkazgan processing plant No. 1, 2, 3 of the Zhezkazgantsvetmet production association. Before his appointment as akim of Zhezkazgan, he headed the city of Satpayev.
