Kuralai Karina, Deputy Chair of the Administrative Police Committee of Kazakhstan's MVD, explained amendments to the Law on Road Traffic regarding drivers' medical examinations and urged bloggers and website owners to responsibly disseminate information, reports infohub.kz.
Karina noted that the requirement for medical examinations has been in place since 2014 and is not new. However, databases have now been integrated between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, allowing information about completed examinations to be automatically transferred between agencies.
She clarified requirements for drivers over 65 and people with disabilities. They must undergo a standard driver medical examination every two years. Results will automatically appear in the MVD's system, with no need for additional certificates or applications. “There is no need to apply for a driver’s license renewal or separately notify the MVD. We want to reassure citizens: no new bureaucratic procedures are being introduced. Everything is as simple, convenient, and hassle-free as possible for drivers,” the MVD representative emphasized.
Karina also addressed bloggers and owners of information resources: “We warn bloggers and website owners about their liability for spreading false information and urge them to be responsible with their publications. Inaccurate interpretations can mislead citizens. Therefore, we recommend using only official publications from state agencies. We are always open for clarifications.”
The amendments to the Law on Road Traffic, previously commented on by the MVD, take effect on August 25.
