Tax reform has become a key factor in strengthening the revenue base of Kazakhstan's state budget, Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said at a government meeting, announcing preliminary results of the changes, according to infohub.kz.
According to the head of the Ministry of National Economy, a substantial increase in revenue was achieved even amid current challenges.
"The results demonstrate the high fiscal effectiveness of the measures taken and the improved sustainability of public finances. Over the first nine months of 2026, tax revenues to the state budget amounted to 19.3 trillion tenge, an increase of 3 trillion tenge, or 18.2%, compared with the same period last year. The main driver of growth was VAT, with revenues rising by 37.3%, including a 54.1% increase on domestically produced goods and 23.9% on imports," the head of the agency concluded.
Recall that on January 1, 2026, a new Tax Code came into force in Kazakhstan, introducing three special tax regimes and abolishing some older ones.
