Over the past day, six natural fires broke out in the Akmola region, affecting areas in Birzhan sal, Tselinograd, Atbasar, Akkol, Shortandy, and Zhaksy districts. The total area of the fires reached 67 hectares of dry grass, reports infohub.kz.

Rescuers and foresters responded promptly to the fires, with the main goal of preventing the spread of flames to populated areas. Firefighting efforts involved units of the Department for Emergency Situations (DES), local akimats, as well as the "Aul kutkarushylary" forces from the village of Marinovka, the "Stepnogorsk" forestry enterprise, and the KSU "Kenes" forestry.

Thanks to coordinated actions, all fire hotspots were extinguished, and there was no threat to the population or infrastructure.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fires was careless handling of fire. In this regard, the DES of the Akmola region urges residents and guests to strictly follow fire safety rules and reminds: in case of an emergency, immediately call 101 or 112.

Earlier it was reported that a forest fire in the East Kazakhstan region was contained only after 100 water drops from a helicopter. The firefighting efforts there involved aviation, ground equipment, and more than 200 people. Additionally, the Ministry of Ecology noted that about 50 forest fires occurred over the week, all of which were promptly contained and extinguished.
