Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is prepared to move to public confrontation with U.S. President Donald Trump over the military presence in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to TASS, citing the portal AL-Monitor, sources familiar with the situation say the Israeli premier is dissatisfied with the conditions Washington is trying to impose, as they contradict the country's interests. The sources say that in dialogue with Netanyahu, Trump has resorted to ultimatums that, in the Israeli view, take little account of its position.

One source noted: "Netanyahu is on the brink. He is trying to decide whether to enter into direct confrontation with the U.S. administration over Gaza and Lebanon. He knows what it will lead to, but the current situation is no better."

Earlier, it was reported that Netanyahu rejected Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza, stating that the withdrawal of Israeli troops would not happen until Hamas is truly disarmed. Later, foreign ministers of eight countries issued a joint statement accusing Israel of derailing the peace plan due to Netanyahu's refusal of Trump's roadmap.
