Streaming service Netflix is preparing a sequel to one of Quentin Tarantino's most famous films. In the sequel, titled "The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth," Brad Pitt will reprise his role as stuntman Cliff Booth, reports infohub.kz.
David Fincher, known for films such as "Fight Club," "Se7en," and "Gone Girl," will direct the new project. Tarantino himself wrote the screenplay but will not direct, as he does not want to make a sequel to his next and, as he plans, final directorial work.
The film will be set in 1977, eight years after the events of the original. In the plot, Cliff Booth will have to adapt to a greatly changed Hollywood.
The cast will include Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, and others. Brad Pitt will also produce alongside Cian Chaffin.
Recall that "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was released in 2019 and was a major success for Tarantino. The film grossed $377 million worldwide and received 10 Oscar nominations, two of which won awards. One of them went to Brad Pitt, marking his first acting win at the ceremony.
The sequel already has release dates. Starting November 25, the film will be shown in IMAX theaters worldwide for two weeks, and it will appear on Netflix on December 23.
Earlier it was reported that Quentin Tarantino will again appear on screen as an actor. He will play a role in the new film "Tangled Up in Blue," where his partner will be singer Kylie Minogue.
