Kazakhstan plans to build a new bridge across the Ural River on the international highway "Aktobe – Uralsk – border of the Russian Federation", reports the website infohub.kz.
During a working trip to the West Kazakhstan Region, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan reviewed the development of a project for the construction of a new automobile bridge across the Ural River. The project is being implemented on the instructions of the Head of State and is aimed at ensuring safe and uninterrupted traffic on the international highway.
The new bridge will be erected next to the existing bridge structures, which have been declared emergency based on the results of a technical inspection. The implementation of the project will improve road safety and ensure reliable transport connectivity on one of the busiest sections of the region's road network.
The project provides for the construction of 8 kilometers of highway, as well as two modern monolithic bridges: a main channel bridge with a length of 513 meters and a floodplain bridge with a length of 1710 meters.
Currently, a feasibility study has been developed and agreed upon with authorized state bodies.
The use of modern engineering solutions and technologies will significantly improve the reliability of transport infrastructure, increase the capacity of the section, and ensure safe operation of the facility in the long term.
Following the review of the project, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport instructed to accelerate the state expert review, determine the source of construction financing in the near future, and ensure strict quality control at all stages of project implementation.
