A woman in the North Kazakhstan Region has won the inclusion of her study period in her employment record and a recalculation of her pension after proving in court that a technical school diploma belongs to her, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the official Telegram channel of the North Kazakhstan Region courts, the Yesil District Court heard a civil case on the woman's application to establish that a diploma confirming her graduation from Technical School No. 23 in Petropavlovsk belongs to her.

The application was prompted by discrepancies between the applicant's personal details and the information in the diploma. As a result, the authorized body did not count her study period at the technical school when calculating her employment record, which affected the setting of her pension payments. The applicant asked the court to establish that the diploma belongs to her, since the document is needed to confirm her study period and have it included in her employment record.

During the proceedings, the court established from archival documents that the applicant had a different surname before marriage and was enrolled at Technical School No. 23 in Petropavlovsk on September 1, 1982. On July 20, 1983, she was dismissed after completing the full course of study and passing qualification exams. She was awarded the qualification of "food products salesperson" and issued a diploma.

The archival documents and the diploma contained discrepancies in the spelling of the applicant's surname, first name and patronymic. Witnesses questioned at the hearing, who studied with the applicant at the same institution, also confirmed that she had studied there. Their surnames and first names also appeared in the dismissal order of July 20, 1983.

After assessing the written evidence and witness testimony together, the court concluded that the diploma in question belongs to the applicant and that the discrepancies in her personal details do not disprove the fact that she studied there and obtained the relevant qualification.

The court noted that establishing this legal fact is necessary for the applicant to confirm her study period, have it included in her employment record and subsequently recalculate her pension payments, and that there is no possibility of obtaining or restoring a proper document out of court.

The application was granted. The court established that the diploma confirming graduation from Technical School No. 23 in Petropavlovsk, issued on July 20, 1983, belongs to the applicant. The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
