A roof caught fire at one of the secondary schools in Pavlodar. As the Ministry of Emergency Situations said, there were no casualties or injuries, reports the website infohub.kz.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene found that insulation was burning under profiled sheeting. According to preliminary data, the fire broke out during roofing work.
About ten people left the building on their own before the rescuers arrived.
Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading across the entire roof. The extinguishing was complicated by the roof structure: the metal frame was built as a double ceiling, and the roof itself was covered with profiled sheeting on both sides. The source of the fire was inside the structure, which made it difficult to detect.
To locate hidden hot spots, firefighters used a thermal camera and opened sections of the roof to supply water directly to the burning area.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded residents to follow fire safety rules and to call 112 in case of an emergency.
Earlier, the publication 'Kursiv' reported that on July 26, a fire occurred in an apartment on the seventh floor of a nine-story building in Pavlodar. Twenty people, including five children, evacuated through the entrance on their own. The fire, covering 25 square meters, was extinguished; no one was injured.
