The family and inner circle of renowned American social media blogger Perez Hilton have issued a statement about his current condition and recovery prospects. The 48-year-old journalist was previously rushed to the hospital from his Miami home after he injured himself during a live TikTok stream. Florida police transported Hilton to a medical facility under the "Baker Act," which allows for involuntary psychiatric examination when a person poses a threat to their own life.
According to those close to the blogger, his condition is now assessed by doctors as "serious but stable." Due to significant blood loss, Hilton requires surgical intervention, after which he will face a lengthy process of physical and psychological rehabilitation. Friends of the journalist believe the crisis may have been triggered by the severe aftermath of sepsis he suffered earlier this year and surgery to remove a blood clot, which took a heavy toll on his health.
