This year, Kazakhstan has recorded 44 cases of damage to train windows, reports the website infohub.kz.

Such incidents most frequently occur at the stations of Almaty, Shymkent, Karaganda, and Shu. In most identified cases, minors were involved in the offenses, police noted.

One of the latest incidents occurred on the Talas–Taraz stretch. An unknown person threw a stone and broke the side window of an electric locomotive. Officers of the transport police department at Taraz station identified and found the offender, who turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of the city. He was held accountable for intentional damage to someone else's property.

The transport police department reminded that throwing stones or any other objects at moving trains is strictly prohibited. This poses a real threat to drivers and passengers, and may also lead to serious consequences for the offender.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the Akmola region, a 22-year-old woman who was late for boarding and saw the train doors closed threw a stone at the driver's cab, breaking the windshield. The court found her guilty of intentional damage to property, but later reduced the administrative fine, considering her status as a student.
