On August 14, unfavorable meteorological conditions (NMC) are expected in Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk, reports infohub.kz.
According to weather forecasters, NMC are predicted in Almaty, and at night in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
As experts explain, unfavorable weather conditions occur when calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions combine. As a result, pollutants can accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to poor air quality.
During such periods, the risk of negative health effects from polluted air may increase, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of atmospheric pollution is also influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to have necessary medications on hand. Outdoor physical activity should be limited and, if possible, moved indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on August 14, Kazakhstan will experience intense heat, thunderstorms, hail, and squally winds. In some regions, temperatures will rise to +41 degrees.
