Kazakhstan's main power grid has fully returned to normal operation after a major disruption. Energy workers are currently completing the connection of end consumers in the regions. The current status of restoration efforts and the denial of false information were announced by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as reported by infohub.kz.
According to the ministry, the key stage of eliminating the consequences of the accident has been successfully completed by the national operator.
"At the moment, electricity supply has been fully restored by KEGOC JSC. Currently, regional energy supply organizations are carrying out a phased connection of individual consumers. In the near future, electricity supply will be fully restored," the Ministry of Energy commented.
Local distribution companies need some time to safely supply voltage to the city and village levels to avoid repeated load surges in distribution networks.
The ministry also strongly commented on messages that began to spread on social networks and messengers regarding the causes of the failure among neighbors in the region.
"The information spread in some public pages that power outages in Uzbekistan occurred as a result of an accident in Kazakhstan's energy system does not correspond to reality," the ministry emphasized.
The Ministry of Energy added that the entire situation with electricity supply in the southern regions remains under strict personal control of the ministry's leadership.
