Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy has reported the full restoration of electricity supply along the KEGOC line after a massive blackout that occurred today in Almaty and the Almaty region, reports infohub.kz.
As noted in the ministry's press service, regional energy supply organizations are currently carrying out a phased connection of individual consumers. It is expected that electricity supply will be fully restored in the near future.
The Ministry of Energy also denied information spread in some public channels that power outages in Uzbekistan were caused by an accident in Kazakhstan's energy system. These data do not correspond to reality.
The situation remains under the control of the Ministry of Energy, the press service emphasized.
Recall that today a massive blackout occurred in Almaty and the Almaty region. The cause was a power surge in the energy system caused by a sharp change in the flow of electricity from the Central Asian energy system. As a result, emergency automation was triggered, leading to the disconnection of a number of consumers in some regions of the republic.
