Russian President Vladimir Putin will mark his 74th birthday on October 7, 2026, at work, combining a personal celebration with state and international affairs, infohub.kz reports.

Kremlin officials — presidential aide Yuri Ushakov and press secretary Dmitry Peskov — outlined the Russian leader's schedule. According to them, Putin has business engagements planned for that day.

Nevertheless, as Peskov emphasized, what matters most to Putin on this personal holiday is the chance to receive congratulations from family and loved ones.

Immediately after his birthday, on October 8 and 9, according to the Kremlin press service, Putin will take part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. A Caspian environmental summit is also planned as part of the trip. One of the main topics will be the shrinking of the Caspian Sea, and an environmental declaration is expected to be adopted at the end of the meeting.

During the Caspian environmental summit, the presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan will discuss practical cooperation among the Caspian states in environmental protection, including measures to prevent the Caspian from shrinking and to preserve its biological resources.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote about the birthday of Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev. This year, on May 17, the head of state turned 73. He traditionally spent his celebration at work.

Dozens of congratulations poured in from leaders of foreign states and governments. Putin was the first to congratulate Toqaev.
