An international study has revealed which countries have the most aggressive drivers, who shout from windows and use offensive gestures, according to infohub.kz.
According to the results of a new global study on driving behavior, some of the most popular tourist destinations are also the most dangerous for driving. Outbursts of anger, sudden maneuvers, tailgating, and verbal altercations on the roads have become widespread in several countries.
Italy tops the ranking of countries with the most aggressive drivers: 23% of respondents said they encountered unpredictable or reckless driving there. The United Kingdom ranks second (11%), with London being one of the most frequently mentioned cities. The United States takes third place with 9%, while France and Australia each have 5%. In fifth place are Spain and Turkey, with 4% of respondents each saying they most often encountered aggression there.
The analysis shows that the key reasons for the rise in road aggression remain high levels of traffic, congestion, and a lack of safe driving culture. Drivers are more likely to commit serious violations and aggressive actions when they are stressed or running late. Among the most common manifestations of road rage, respondents cite the use of offensive gestures, honking, shouting from windows, and dangerous tailgating.
Experts note that high levels of tourism in such countries often exacerbate the situation, as visiting drivers are unfamiliar with local infrastructure. Specialists urge road travelers to exercise extreme caution and avoid conflicts on the roads abroad.
