Armenia's former President Robert Kocharyan has been arrested for two months by a court ruling, according to infohub.kz.
Marina Ohanyan, press secretary of Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee, said the court ordered the detention of the former head of state. "He is arrested for two months," she said in response to a question about the court's decision in Kocharyan's case.
The Anti-Corruption Committee has charged the ex-president with abuse of power, large-scale money laundering, and accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.
Earlier reports said Kocharyan was detained and taken to the Anti-Corruption Committee. Later, his son Sedrak was also arrested for two months. In addition, as part of the case, the committee summoned Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, who was also charged.
After the court hearing, Robert Kocharyan was taken to a hospital.
