British rock singer Rod Stewart, 81, has undergone planned heart surgery and has been forced to pause his farewell tour "One Last Time." Following doctors' advice, the artist is taking a four-week break, leading to the cancellation of his upcoming performances, according to infohub.kz.
The singer's representative confirmed that Stewart successfully underwent a coronary stenting procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery and have allowed him to resume daily activities, but strongly recommended a month-long break before returning to the stage.
Due to rehabilitation, the musician has canceled upcoming concerts in Cleveland and Cincinnati, as well as a series of shows in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace. Performances in North America and Mexico were scheduled through early September. Organizers promise to announce rescheduled dates.
Stewart himself thanked the medical team for their care and said he already feels much better. The singer admitted he is disappointed about the canceled shows but hopes to resume touring soon. Over his career, the legendary rocker has sold more than 250 million albums and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
