Recall that in February of this year, bailiff Zhansulu Khamzina from Rudny reported being attacked in her own car by an alimony debtor. The suspect was detained and a criminal case was opened. Today, the press service of the Kostanay regional court announced the verdict.

During the trial, it was established that the defendant, K., had been willfully evading alimony payments for his minor children since 2012, resulting in a debt of over 9 million tenge under the enforcement proceedings. Bailiff Khamzina had taken all legally prescribed measures to enforce the court decision.

In February 2026, K., intending to obstruct the bailiff's activities, deliberately waited for her to leave work. Then, with the intent to kill, he attacked her inside her car and deliberately stabbed her four times in the neck and face. As a result of the criminal act, the knife blade broke, and the victim, actively resisting, ran out of the car and called for help.

The attacker hastily fled the scene and took steps to conceal evidence. Khamzina sustained stab wounds to her cheek and cheekbone area, as well as to her left forearm.

The jury found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison, to be served in a medium-security correctional facility.
