Kazakh tennis player Elena Rybakina commented on her defeat in the final of the prestigious tournament in Toronto, reports infohub.kz.
Recall that Kazakhstan's No. 1 in women's singles stopped one step short of the title at the WTA 1000 hard-court event in Toronto. The world No. 2 met Poland's Iga Swiatek, ranked eighth, in the final. The match lasted just two sets and ended in a 2:6, 3:6 loss for Rybakina. The players spent 1 hour and 15 minutes on court.
After the final, Elena addressed Swiatek and her team.
"Thank you, guys. It's hard to find words. Today I didn't have much energy. I tried my best, but it wasn't enough. Of course, congratulations to Iga and her team on a great tournament. And, of course, thank you all for the incredible atmosphere. The tournament was amazing. I really hope I can come back here very soon," Rybakina said in her post-match interview.
It should be noted that the head-to-head record between Swiatek and Rybakina now stands at 7-6 in favor of the Polish player.
