In June, Kazakhstan's labor market saw a sharp surge in activity: after a quiet May, employers posted nearly 109,000 vacancies (+25.4%), while job seekers uploaded 126,700 resumes (+38.3%). The main trend at the start of summer is an influx of young graduates, with some specialists demanding salaries as high as 3.4 million tenge, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Electronic Labor Exchange (Enbek.kz), there is an interesting gap between supply and demand: the highest-paying vacancies do not match the most ambitious salary requests from candidates. While businesses are willing to pay top sums for managers and oil industry workers, the highest demands come from niche specialists in aviation, IT, and medicine.
Top salaries offered by employers: division director (about 1.98 million tenge), well engineer (1.31 million), deputy head of department (1.38 million). Top salaries requested by job seekers: pilot (3.4 million), system architect (2.5 million), surgeon (2 million).
Despite the million-tenge salaries at the top, the bulk of vacancies are concentrated in other sectors. Employers face a talent shortage in the social and real sectors. Top 5 in demand: education (19,200 vacancies), services (16,500), agriculture (12,100), healthcare (9,500), construction (8,400). Demand for low-skilled labor and mid-level specialists is roughly equal at 37-38% each, while high-skilled workers are needed in only one in four vacancies (25%).
The June spike in resumes is linked to the graduation season. Nearly half of all job seekers (49%) are young people under 35. Women currently outnumber men in the labor market (55% vs 45%). Employers are most active in the south and the capital. The top regions for job offers are: Turkistan Region (12,300), Astana (8,500), Zhambyl Region (7,000), and Karaganda Region (6,700). Since the start of 2026, the platform has posted over 600,000 vacancies and more than 730,000 resumes, indicating a full recovery in business activity.
