Samsung Electronics Central Eurasia (SECE) and Kazakhmys Barlau have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at digitalizing field production processes. The parties plan to combine Kazakhmys Barlau's expertise in automating geological exploration with Samsung's corporate mobile technologies. The goal is to simplify the work of employees at production sites, reduce manual operations, and accelerate data exchange, according to infohub.kz.
During a meeting held on August 12 in Almaty, SECE President Yongjin Park and Kazakhmys Barlau CEO Galym Nurzhanov discussed key areas of cooperation and the prospects for launching a pilot project using Samsung's corporate mobile solutions.
An important component of the project will be the ASPANS information system developed by Kazakhmys Barlau. It integrates the collection and storage of production data, reporting automation, and analytics. The system is already used in drilling processes and allows for the automatic generation of electronic drilling reports, reducing the amount of manual work.
The next step will be to provide employees with access to digital tools directly "in the field." For this purpose, the use of specialized Samsung corporate mobile devices with centralized management (MDM) is being considered. Employees will be able to receive tasks, fill out electronic forms and checklists, and record results right at the work site. Data will be transmitted to ASPANS and used for reporting, analytics, and management decision-making.
This approach will gradually eliminate some paper documents and redundant data entry, allowing the company to obtain necessary production data faster. The combination of Samsung mobile technologies and ASPANS capabilities will ensure connectivity between employees' work at sites and corporate digital systems. In the future, the collected data can be used for in-depth analytics and the application of artificial intelligence technologies.
The heads of the companies signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and agreed on a preliminary project roadmap. Representatives of Kazakhmys Barlau also visited the Samsung demonstration hall, where they familiarized themselves with corporate solutions for various business tasks.
In addition, Samsung will explore the possibility of providing Kazakhmys Barlau employees with access to Samsung's corporate online platform, where, after verification, they can purchase the company's products under special conditions.
