September in Kazakhstan will start with contrasts: summer heat up to +35 degrees will persist in the west and south, while the north, east, and center of the country will be at the mercy of precipitation, sometimes turning into snow. Night frosts are possible in places, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the advisory forecast of Kazhydromet, the average temperature in September will be 5–7 degrees lower than in August. However, forecasters do not expect a steady transition to autumn at the beginning of the month.
In the northern, central, and eastern regions, precipitation and gusty winds are expected in the first days of September. At night, temperatures will drop to 0…+8 degrees in places, with frosts down to -3 degrees possible on the soil surface.
By the middle of the first ten days, the weather will change: precipitation will stop over most of the territory, and it will become noticeably warmer during the day. In the north, east, and center, after +10…+18°C, temperatures may rise to +22…+30°C. In the west, northwest, and southwest, the air will warm up to +25…+35°C. In the south, daytime temperatures will be +25…+35°C, nighttime +13…+20°C. In the southeast, after +20…+28°C, temperatures will rise to +25…+33°C.
However, the warming will be short-lived. In the second half of the first ten days, a northwestern cyclone will first affect the west and northwest, and then other regions. Along with it, precipitation will return, winds will strengthen, and the heat will subside.
In the second and third ten-day periods, temperature swings will continue. In the west and northwest, during warm periods it will be up to +27…+35°C, and during cooling - +12…+22°C. At night, frosts down to -3 degrees are possible again on the soil surface.
In the north, east, and center, daytime temperatures will fluctuate from +20…+30°C to +8…+17°C. At night, thermometers will approach zero in places.
In the south and southeast, warm days will persist at +25…+33°C, but with the next cooling, temperatures will drop to +15…+22°C. In the mountains, night frosts can reach -6°C.
Overall, September in most of Kazakhstan is expected to be close to the climatic norm. It may be about one degree warmer than usual in the West Kazakhstan region, as well as in the west of Atyrau and Mangystau regions.
Precipitation in most regions is forecast within normal limits. More than usual may fall in the far west, northwest, and northeast of the country, less - mainly in the south and southwest.
