Russian journalist, music critic and TV presenter Sergey Sosedov has died at the age of 58. The cause of death was an accident during a tour — the artist fell down a flight of stairs, reports infohub.kz.
Sosedov's death was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT. According to its information, the tragedy occurred during a tour trip.
Shortly before, Sergey Sosedov had arrived in the Yakut city of Neryungri, where he was to serve on the jury of the international beauty and fashion contest "Pearl of the Far East." The contest final was scheduled for September 25.
Sosedov's colleague Vadim Takmenev wrote on Instagram: "We are all in shock. This morning we lost our friend, an integral part of our team, the heart, soul and engine of the Superstar project, Sergey Sosedov. We were all supposed to meet this Saturday to watch the first episode of the new season of VIA SUPERSTAR together. He was very much looking forward to this meeting and this premiere. The entire season will air in his memory. In memory of him — direct, fair, stubborn, kind, gentle, bright and real! It was his last shoot. Now we will peer into every frame to remember the last minutes, days and weeks we spent together."
According to Gazeta.ru, Sergey Sosedov became widely known in Russia in the late 1990s and early 2000s thanks to his work as one of the sharpest and most outrageous judges on the music project "Sharks of the Pen."
Since 2020, he had been a regular member of the jury of the show "Superstar! The Return." In addition, Sosedov hosted the project "Beyond the Edge" and served as a jury member on the show "X-Factor Belarus."
