Indian-origin couple Anuradha and Vikas Sinha have donated $20 million to the University of North Texas (UNT) to establish a new college named in their honor, infohub.kz reports.
According to NDTV, the major gift will fund the creation of the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics.
The new college will become a major academic and research center, bringing together programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, health informatics, and educational technology.
The funds will establish six permanent endowed funds to finance student scholarships, faculty positions, research projects, entrepreneurship support, and advanced technology development.
Vikas Sinha, who earned his doctorate from the University of North Texas in 2023, noted that artificial intelligence is one of the defining technologies of our time, and universities play a key role in preparing future specialists.
He also emphasized that the move reflects the family's desire to support new generations of students and highlight the contributions of immigrants to science and education in the United States.
The couple had previously provided financial support to the university, which led to the opening of the Department of Data Science in 2024.
