Clear, dry and calm weather will persist in Kazakhstan until the end of September, but on October 1 the situation will change dramatically, forecasters from Kazhydromet warned, according to infohub.kz.
On September 29 and 30, almost the entire country will see rain-free weather. But on October 1, as warm and cold air masses collide, the weather will become unstable: rain and thunderstorms will occur, and the wind will strengthen.
At night and in the morning, fog will blanket the country, and in the northern regions frosts will strike, with temperatures dropping to 1–3°C. During the day, air temperatures in the north will reach +15…+23°C, while in the south it will cool to +20…+25°C. In mountainous areas, thermometers will drop from +15…+23°C to +8…+13°C.
Astana will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. The wind will be northeast: 3-8 m/s at night, 9-14 m/s during the day. Air temperature at night will be +2…+4°C, with frosts down to 2°C on the soil surface. During the day, the air will warm to +13…+15°C.
Almaty will also have partly cloudy skies with no rain or snow. The wind will be northeast at 3–8 m/s. At night, the temperature will be +9…+11°C, and during the day +21…+23°C.
Shymkent will be partly cloudy with rain. The wind will be northeast with gusts up to 15-20 m/s. At night, the temperature will drop to +10…+12°C, and during the day it will warm to +22…+24°C.
