SpaceX has successfully placed another satellite into orbit for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, reports infohub.kz.
The mission has been designated NROL-95. As is customary, details about the payload and its technical characteristics are not disclosed because of the satellite's classified status.
For the NRO, this was the fourth launch in 2026. The previous three missions — NROL-105, NROL-172, and NROL-179 — were conducted from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and were intended to deploy a constellation of small reconnaissance satellites.
The reusable first stage, B1096, completed its seventh flight. Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, it touched down at Landing Zone 2 (LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral. The launch webcast was cut off right after stage separation at the customer's request.
