For the first time in history, iconic characters from the Star Wars and Marvel universes will team up in an official crossover comic, as reported by infohub.kz.
Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm have announced a joint project to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise. As Gizmodo writes, Luke Skywalker will meet Spider-Man in a new comic miniseries titled Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles.
The series will consist of five issues. The first issue will hit shelves in January 2027, with the final issue arriving in May, just in time for the anniversary of the famous space saga.
The project will be written by Kevin Smith, with art by David Marquez. In the story, characters from the original trilogy—Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo—will be transported to the Earth-616 universe. There, the heroes of a galaxy far, far away will join forces with key Marvel characters, including Captain America, Wolverine, and Spider-Man.
The crossover was first reported by Entertainment Weekly. Representatives from Lucasfilm Publishing noted that the story written by Kevin Smith will be a true love letter to both popular franchises. Readers can expect epic battles featuring iconic heroes and villains. Despite some cautious fan concerns, the creators promise a grand and emotional event.
