Three U.S. news outlets that had been barred from the White House have regained access to President Donald Trump's residence following a court ruling, infohub.kz reports.
According to CNN, representatives of MS NOW, CNN, and Politico were again allowed to work at the White House after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to temporarily restore press credentials.
However, despite the court order, journalists from all three outlets encountered access problems again the following morning. The news organizations then filed an emergency motion for a hearing. After that, the Trump administration permitted the media representatives to return to the White House grounds.
Earlier, a U.S. court ruled that denying journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico access to the White House was unlawful. Judge Timothy Kelly said that President Donald Trump's decision to revoke the journalists' passes "likely violates their constitutional rights."
Recall that on September 18, the U.S. President announced he was banning correspondents from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, claiming these outlets spread fake news. The very next day, journalists from these outlets reported they were not allowed into the White House.
Donald Trump then posted an image of garbage bags bearing the logos of these news organizations.
It later emerged that CNN, MSNBC, and Politico, whose journalists were barred from the White House, filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump.
Amid the scandal, a number of leading U.S. media outlets announced a boycott of the Trump administration — television networks suspended pooled coverage of events involving the White House chief.
