British studio Supermassive Games, known for the horror title Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, has announced plans to reduce its workforce by up to 75 employees. The decision was made to ensure the company's financial stability, reports infohub.kz.
In an official statement posted on social media platform X, studio representatives said they are forced to part ways with 75 colleagues. Management has promised to provide all necessary support to affected employees. The consultation process with staff has already begun.
This marks the third wave of layoffs at Supermassive Games in the past two and a half years. In February 2024, about 90 people left the company, and in July 2025, another 35 specialists were let go. By the end of 2025, the workforce had been reduced to 172 employees. Additionally, in June, CEO Robert Henriesson resigned just weeks after the release of the game Directive 8020. It was also revealed that development of the sequel Until Dawn 2 has been handed over to Sony's internal studio Firesprite.
