In the North Kazakhstan region, authorities have thwarted an attempt to deliver a large batch of synthetic drugs to the regional center. Law enforcement officers detained a 42-year-old resident of the Zhambyl region, suspected of selling banned substances, reports the website infohub.kz.
At the Yuzhny checkpoint, the attention of police was drawn to a Chevrolet Cobalt rented by the man for a day. During an inspection of the vehicle, two packages containing a packaged psychotropic substance were found and seized in the cabin.
An examination established that the seized substance was the synthetic drug α-PvP. The total weight of the substance was 120 grams.
The detainee is suspected of selling drugs on an especially large scale. In addition, a medical examination confirmed that he had used cannabinoids.
Currently, the suspect has been taken into custody. If his guilt is proven, he faces imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years.
Since the beginning of this year, regional police have already shut down 26 channels for supplying narcotic drugs to Petropavlovsk.
