The premiere of the fourth season of the popular comedy series "Ted Lasso" has become the most successful in the history of the streaming service Apple TV+, reports infohub.kz.

According to data from the analytics firm Nielsen, the season's opening episode, released on August 4 and 5, amassed 296.6 million minutes of viewing in its first two days. This result set a record for the platform, surpassing the figures of all previous seasons of the show itself, as well as hits like "Severance" and "Pluribus."

On August 5 alone, the series generated over 200 million minutes of viewing, allowing it to top the U.S. streaming chart. In terms of full viewings, the 42-minute episode racked up 7.1 million sessions.

The fourth season's plot unfolds three years after the events of the third season's finale. The main character, played by Jason Sudeikis, returns to Richmond, where he takes charge of a women's second-division football team. Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift also reprise their roles.
