A large-scale search operation was launched in the Caspian Sea after three men failed to return from a sea trip. Rescuers scoured a vast area and found all the missing men alive, reports infohub.kz.
The previous evening, a distress call was received at 112 about the disappearance of three residents of Zhanaozen, who had gone to sea near the Kenderli recreation area. Rescue forces and equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Border Service of the National Security Committee were immediately dispatched. During the search, rescuers spotted one of the men swimming towards the shore. They pulled him aboard and brought him to land.
The other two were searched for overnight. The search was hampered by darkness and the vast expanse of water. The area was divided into four sectors. Rescuers covered over 20 kilometers of water, and aerial surveillance covered more than 70 kilometers. As a result, the two remaining men were found alive by a search team 10 kilometers from the shore.
In total, the search and rescue operation involved forces and equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, servicemen from the Border Service of the National Security Committee, and volunteers. A Kazaviaspas helicopter and drones from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also deployed.
