A three-vehicle collision on the Almaty–Ust-Kamenogorsk highway on July 26 left several people injured, according to police. Read more on infohub.kz.
The accident occurred at the 474-kilometer mark of the highway. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a Kia Sportage crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Highlander. The impact then caused a subsequent collision with a Lexus traveling in the same direction.
"According to preliminary data, the driver of the Kia Sportage drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Highlander, after which a collision occurred with a Lexus traveling in the same direction," police said.
Police officers, emergency services, and ambulance crews are working at the scene. The number of casualties is being determined, and medics are providing necessary assistance to all injured.
"Following the investigation, a procedural decision will be made in accordance with current legislation," police added.
