President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to congratulate him on his birthday, infohub.kz reported, citing Akorda.

The Kazakh leader wished his Uzbek counterpart success in governing the country for the benefit of the brotherly Uzbek people. Tokayev noted that under Mirziyoyev's leadership, Uzbekistan is confidently moving forward on the path of comprehensive reforms, demonstrating impressive successes in socio-economic development and increasing its international prestige.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that he highly values the Uzbek leader's personal contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and strategic partnership. He added that the relations between the two countries are built on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness.

During the phone conversation, the sides discussed the dynamics of Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation and prospects for enhancing collaboration in trade, logistics, and culture.

Concluding the call, the presidents exchanged views on current regional and international issues and agreed on a schedule of future meetings.

Earlier, as reported by the publication Kursiv, Tokayev held a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump and invited him to visit Kazakhstan.
