In his address to the nation, President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Tokayev said that inertia and waiting are tantamount to a historic defeat, and outlined a course toward shaping the architecture of the country's future, infohub.kz reports.
"We face one great goal — to build a just, strong, clean and progressive Kazakhstan. An era of enormous opportunities and, at the same time, enormous risks has arrived. It is precisely in such fateful periods that the character of a nation is revealed. Inertia and waiting are tantamount to a historic defeat. The only correct answer to the challenges of the times is to work in a mode of strategic anticipation, shaping the architecture of Kazakhstan's future. Otherwise, we will find ourselves in the rut of endless catch-up development," the president said.
He added that citizens are the highest measure of a state's progress and the main beneficiaries of the positive results of all reforms. "That is why the idea of justice lies at the heart of my strategic course," the head of state stressed.
According to Tokayev, as it enters a new historical cycle, Kazakhstan is embarking on the construction and renewal of its entire civilian infrastructure. "In the coming years, a construction boom will cover all regions. As has been said, we will build highways, industrial and energy facilities, railways, bridges, utility networks, hydraulic structures, schools, hospitals, sports complexes and, of course, cultural facilities. The construction of modern infrastructure is linked to the opening of dozens of new production facilities and, most importantly, to the development of the people's digital economy. Thus, thanks to discipline, responsibility and hard work, we will together radically change the appearance of our villages and cities in the very near future and make our common home — the Republic of Kazakhstan — a more powerful and more attractive state," the president said.
He noted that, following the principle of "Law and Order" and working conscientiously, Kazakhstanis will certainly achieve all their goals and leave a worthy legacy to future generations. "I will repeat what I have said more than once: in the face of unprecedented global challenges, we must strengthen the unity of the nation and the social foundation of society in every way. This is the guarantee of the ultimate success of our strategic designs and plans. I am confident that, following this path, Kazakhstan will take a worthy place in the vanguard of world civilization," the president said.
