Australian company TUFF Australia has turned an ordinary Toyota RAV4 into a machine that looks ready to survive the apocalypse: the new crossover is being offered with a massive metal bull bar that protects the front of the vehicle in collisions with animals, reports infohub.kz.
In the Australian outback, collisions with kangaroos on rural roads can be a serious problem. That is why TUFF Australia has developed several protection options for the RAV4 — from a relatively compact hoop to the huge Aerostyle Bullbar.
The most striking version covers a significant portion of the front bumper and is complemented by a tubular structure around the headlights and grille. Various finishes are available, including black powder coating, polished aluminum and silver.
According to the manufacturer, the design is compatible with factory safety systems, ADAS sensors and airbags, and its installation does not void the vehicle's warranty. The bull bar includes mounts for additional LED lights, a winch and a UHF radio antenna.
The massive Aerostyle Bullbar is designed for the GX and GXL versions of the new RAV4. For those who find such armor excessive, TUFF offers a more compact hoop that looks considerably calmer but also provides less protection for the front end.
Such structures have long been commonplace in Australia: bull bars are widely used on pickups and SUVs, and some automakers even offer them in factory accessory catalogs.
