Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump called the International Criminal Court an organization that has run out of control and urged nations to withdraw from it, infohub.kz reports.
The American leader said the United States would never allow its service members or anyone else to become the target of investigations or "show trials" by what he described as an anti-American tribunal that has no jurisdiction over the United States.
The U.S. president called the membership of the International Criminal Court "an evil group of people."
He also called on countries to withdraw from the ICC.
"I call on all countries that are members of the ICC to officially leave this renegade body," Trump said.
Recall that in 2024 the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israel's prime minister. In 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on the ICC for issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
In addition, a scandal recently erupted at the International Criminal Court: ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, who issued the arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, was first suspended from his post over sexual harassment allegations, and later the ICC's chief prosecutor was dismissed on the same charges.
Recently, The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials and documents, reported that the Trump administration is preparing sweeping sanctions against the International Criminal Court.
