U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a decision to adapt the future Triumphal Arch in Washington for military purposes. The White House head made the statement on Truth Social, as reported by infohub.kz.
According to the American leader, the initiative came from the military itself. "At the urgent request of the U.S. Armed Forces and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the time of the Civil War, into a high-grade Military Complex / Triumphal Arch," NUR.KZ quoted him as saying.
Trump specified that the facility is intended for the placement and storage of a significant number of unmanned aerial vehicles that can be deployed rapidly. In addition, snipers are planned to be stationed on the roof of the arch and on the adjacent square, while ammunition for sniper weapons will be stored inside the complex.
"Nothing like this facility will exist anywhere in the world. Out of the 59 largest cities and capitals, Washington is the only one in the world without a Triumphal Arch, but now it will appear and will undoubtedly become the greatest of all!" the U.S. president concluded.
