The trial has begun in Astana over the tragic death of paramedic Uldana Myrzuan, who died after an air conditioner fell on her from the facade of a building, reports infohub.kz.
Today, the first open court session in this case was held in the capital. The case files were submitted to the court in early August after the pre-trial investigation was completed.
As previously reported, the incident occurred on November 8, 2025: the external brick cladding and an air conditioner collapsed from the facade of a nine-story residential building. The ambulance paramedic, trying to pull a man from under the rubble, was struck by the air conditioner that fell from the ninth floor. Doctors performed a craniotomy on her, but on November 18, her death was announced.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree awarding the deceased the medal "Erligi ushin" (For Courage).
In late July, Uldana's mother, Salima Eshankulova, addressed the public after a photo from her daughter's ex-husband's wedding was published. Later, the widower Adilet Zeinel and his mother responded to public criticism for the first time. Zeinel stated that he does not intend to give up his status as a victim in the criminal case, wishing to "see the case through" and "achieve justice." "I have a duty to Uldana," he emphasized.
