US President Donald Trump has become more outspoken lately, frustrated by the prolonged war with Iran, reports infohub.kz.
According to TASS, citing The Washington Post, the American leader is increasingly expressing dissatisfaction with regional allies, as victory in the conflict with Iran seems unattainable to him. Sources say Trump is largely taking out his frustration on Oman and other US partners.
Experts link this to the upcoming midterm elections, which will determine whether the Republican Party retains its majority in Congress. Earlier this week, Donald Trump stated that the US could strike Oman if the country hinders negotiations with Iran over the Strait of Hormuz.
"If Oman gets in the way, we'll bomb them to hell," TASS quoted him as saying. Following this, Democratic senators moved to introduce a resolution on the president's war powers, seeking to legally bar him from attacking Oman.
